Allergy Information

Food allergies affect millions of Americans with reactions ranging from minor to life threatening. Royal Hawaiian Orchards provides clear allergen labeling on our packaging so customers can make educated decisions before purchasing.

All of our products contain Macadamia Nuts which cause an allergic reaction in a small percent of the population.  Royal Hawaiian Crunch products contain Macadamia Nuts and Almonds. Almonds are an allergen and cause an allergic reaction in some people.  Royal Hawaiian Dark Chocolates contain Macadamia Nuts, Milk and Soy (soy lecithin). Milk and Soy are allergens and cause reactions in some people.  We recommend that all consumers contact their primary care Physician should they have any questions about eating any of our products.

All Royal Hawaiian products are Gluten Free and Free of All Other Allergens other than those specifically listed on a package.

All Royal Hawaiian products do include the following statement; "Manufactured in a facility that also processes peanuts, other tree nuts (Almonds, Brazil Nuts, Cashews, Coconuts, Filberts/Hazel Nuts, Pecans, Pine Nuts, Pistachios, Walnuts), Wheat, Soy and Eggs." This statement is used because some of Royal Hawaiian's manufacturing partners may occasionally process some or all of these allergens. Royal Hawaiian products DO NOT contain these allergens even though our manufacturing partners may process them.

Food manufacturers conduct what is called a Sanitation Shift after an allergen is processed to prevent contamination of the next production run. A Sanitation Shift typically takes a full 8 hour day and includes a full cleaning of all production equipment followed by lab testing to confirm none of the allergen is present before a different product is produced.  This process is similar to what homemakers do in their kitchens after handling raw meat to ensure other foods aren't contaminated.
